Ski Touring

Introduction to Ski Touring 3 Valleys

Ski Touring - Introductory Day Tour

The introductory day tour is structured to give you all the basic skills and techniques around ski touring at an easy pace. It offers you the chance to enjoy and practise your basic skills whilst ascending some relatively easy summits in a fun and relaxed environment, followed by a pleasant off-piste descent back to the resort. To take part in this course, you will need to be able to confidently link parallel turns on a red run and have the experience to descend an easy slope off-piste.

The course is structured to include

  • Touring equipment knowledge - skis, skins and boots and how to use them

  • Avalanche safety equiment - basic uses

  • Ski Touring and Off-piste skills

  • Planning a day - weather and snow conditions

Ski Touring - Intermediate & Advanced Day Tours

If you already have ski touring experience or have already completed our introductory day tour you may be ready to join us for our private intermediate and advanced guided day tours. These are tailored to the level of the individual or small group and give you the oportunity to head off the beaten track and to experience some of the best ascents and descents the 3 Vallées has to offer.

Search & Rescue - Transceiver Skills Sessions

You cannot put a price on safety in the mountains and these sessions are for everyone, skiers, boarders and even walkers. Even regular users need to practise regularly. The right equipment on the mountain is essential, but it is of no help in an emergency unless you really know how to use it. These sessions focus on avalanche emergency procedure and  transceiver search and rescue. The sessions are held at different points throughout the season, please ask when the next one will be if you want to join a session. If there are no sessions running during your holiday dates, this topic can be covered as part of your off piste lesson or ski touring day.
